BARS
We are spoiled for choice when it comes to great bars in Val d'Isere. Here are some of our favourites, but if you wanted something a little quieter, all of the hotel bars int he village are fabulous too.
THE BLACK SHEEP
New from December 2025, this fabulous hide out, from the great owners behind Le Hibou Bar and Restaurant L'Avalin is situated in the heart of the village high street where the Underground Bar once stood. We don't know exactly what is in store yet, but watch this space for updates!
HIBOU BAR
Opened 2018 and already established as a great place to chill out and enjoy a glass of wine with great Asian inspired food, daily happy hour and live music throughout the season. Find it under the Portillo residence near the petrol station
PETIT DANOIS
A favourite of ours with the best apres live music anywhere. Try out the famous Danish "Red Eric" and suffer the consequences the next day! Has a lovely casual restaurant section too for early dining.
BAR ALEXANDRA
Located near the Post Office, it's the best snooker and pool venue in town. There's also a top level sound system for great parties. Ask Phil, the barman, for the best Mojito in town.
BLUE NOTE
Next to the Ormelune Hotel. A chilled bar popular with seasonaires serving up all your classic drinks to a mixture of Jazz and funk. Atmospheric and friendly with nibbles and specials at après (3pm-6pm). Definitely one of my favourite bars in resort.
THE B' BAR
Nestled opposite the school, and very convenient to many of the residences along the Rte de la Balme, B'Bar offers a relaxed vibe with live music many evenings and afternoon BBQs when the weather gets warmer.
LES FILS A MAMAN (Formerly Bananas)
Still a favourite of chalet staff in Val d'Isere, this is a very popular après-ski venue. On a sunny day, the terrace is open and you can still a beer or a cocktail in the sunshine. The tiny bar downstairs is popular in the evenings evenings and regularly hosts DJ nights. Look out for the signs by the terrace.
LES COINS DES AMIS (Jules' Bar)
Fantastic wine bar right off the main roundabout in the centre of town in the Old Town including a busy outdoor bar for evening apres (closed Mondays for the Market). Great atmosphere and service from Jules and his team. The best Genepy in Val d'Isere.
COCORICO APRES BAR & CLUB
Fantastic apres and late night venue with live music and DJs. Right on the piste, a great location and atmosphere with live music every afternoon on their huge outdoor terrace.
LA ROSEE BLANCHE, LA DAILLE
Great friendly service! Perfect for apres drinks straight from the slopes and now serving a great selection of hearty lunches on the terrace.
CLUBS
IMA (Formerly Dicks Tea Bar)
Well, this is the big one! Dicks Tea Bar was once the most famous club in the Alps! Now rebranded as IMA, for those of you regulars, the Gary Davies signed photo has long gone. There's a large dance floor and two bars with every drink you can think of, from beer to cocktails and, for the millionaires, Krug Champagne. Open from 11pm kicking off with the After Dinner Club with a live saxophonist.
COCORICO DOUDOUNE
Val's largest club which has massively grown in popularity each season, no doubt helped by Cocorico's collaboration with top DJs from clubs such as Ministry of Sound! Open till late every night!
LA FOLIE DOUCE
This (in)famous daytime bar/club and restaurant complex sits on the mountain and it accessible either by ski or by ski lift from La Daille. Every afternoon from midday until 5pm with live music, cabaret dancers and DJs, the Folie Douce has an amazing atmosphere. Expect to dance on the tables!
